EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique
What Is EFT?
E.F.T. stands for “Emotional Freedom Technique” which was developed by Gary Craig. This method of tapping was derived from the ancient practice of acupuncture. Basically, it is the tapping of meridian points on the body to restore energy balance which eliminates negative emotions. As you know, “If You Don’t Manage Your Emotions, Then Your Emotions will Manage You”.
How Does It Work?
Your body, like all else in the Universe, is composed of energy. “The cause of ALL negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system.” This quote by Gary Craig, is the founding principal of meridian tapping. While tapping, focus on the negative event (a fear, problem, anxiety or what ever is bothering you) by reciting and verbalizing the memory. You tap five to seven times repeatedly, on the bodies meridian points. The tapping of meridian energy points, in concert with verbalizing the problem, brings the bodies energy back into balance.
Where Are These Meridian Points Located?
The meridian points of the body are located at the top of the head, the inside portion of the eyebrow, between the eye and temple, under the eye, between the nose and mouth, between the mouth and chin, on the point of the collar bone at the base of the throat, on your side below the arm and the side of the hand.
How Do You Tap?
You can tap these points in any order. Tap each point five to seven times while verbalizing your problem statement. Then move to the next point repeating your problem statement while tapping. Repeat this process until you have tapped all nine points. You will start the process over and go through the tapping sequence twice more for a total of three passes over the nine meridian points.
What Is A Problem Statement?
Your problem statement should be a short declaration of the problem followed by an affirmation of complete acceptance of yourself. Here is an example of a problem statement for a person with a stress. The problem statement would be similar to this: “Even though I am suffering from stress of dealing with negative people, I completely and totally accept myself”.
Consider This!
Although, “A Good Laugh & a Good Sleep are Two Good Cures for Almost Anything”, there are times when a more direct method is needed. With a little bit of practice, you can learn to perform the EFT technique quickly and anywhere. Keep in mind the saying “Stop Allowing People Who do so Little for You, Control so Much of Your Emotions”. Don’t allow others to control your feelings; EFT is a great method for keeping you in control. Many people report amazing results. Since EFT is based on ancient Chinese medicine’s concept of “Chi”, the bodies energy fields and acupuncture, tapping has merit and it’s amazing results are well documented. Any method that helps you to recognize and deal with the negative issue of your day, puts you on the path of self improvement. The Tapping Solution has a complete system for teaching and coaching you on how to get the most out of EFT.

Yes David, I find EFT to be an invaluable tool. It’s changed my life. I use it most days, especially when I’m going through a tough patch.
When I’m walking down the street I automatically find myself tapping the thumbnail of my index finger with my thumb. It’s not noticed by other people and it gets me tapping more. I’ve found that by just tapping with no particular agenda much of the time I’ve changed all sorts of fears and hang-ups without actually working on them intentionally.
